It’s been five years since Adam Plant joined Maxum Foods and the MaxCare team, and we’re celebrating this milestone. We caught up with Adam to have a chat about his journey and to talk through some of the highlights during his time with us.
Tell us a little bit about yourself
Born and raised in Ivanhoe, Melbourne, Victoria, I’m still living in Melbourne and married with three boys which keeps me really active.
I studied Business, majoring in Accounting and I had a career in Banking & Finance for over 20 years. I always loved helping people and I was fortunate to join the MaxCare team and pursue my passion in Agriculture.
Tell us a little bit about your journey at Maxum Foods
I have a sales-based role and my job is to look after both farmers and rural stores. Over the last five years I have been fortunate to travel all across Australia as my territory covers Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales & Tasmania.
What do you actually do?
I’m often out visiting customers. I love getting on farm and helping farmers especially at the early, critical pre-weaning stage.
I also spend a lot of time educating rural stores on animal health and our MaxCare product range.
Why MaxCare?
It’s a great team and we also have an awesome culture. MaxCare is a trusted brand and I’ve seen the great results our products can deliver.
Because of my job I get to hear so many great stories from Australian farmers. They continually face challenges but show up every single day and display resilience.
Nicknames: What do they call you in the office?
Farmer, Ads, Cobber, Planty.. just to name a few.
What is the best ‘work perk’ at MaxCare?
Driving a fully wrapped and branded MaxCare car is awesome but seriously I love that my job involves travelling around our great country. I get to meet new and interesting people all the time.

Do you have a favourite story from the last five years that you would like to share?
I think it was my first month in the job, I got to go to our staff Christmas party and that’s where I got to meet the whole Maxum team, including our Directors. Great thing was we were all dressed up and we did a team building activity of cocktail making in the afternoon.
Needless to say, there were a few sore heads the next day! It left an awesome first and long-lasting impression on the company and it’s people, showcasing how we work hard but have a lot of fun along the way.
What do you get up to when you’re not at work?
Having three boys keeps me busy. We spend a lot of time outside doing things like playing cricket, camping and fishing. There’s nothing better than sitting around a campfire sharing a few stories!
I’ve also always been involved in AFL footy. Once I stopped playing, I started coaching local football and continue with that passion today.
Congratulations on 5 years Adam. We look forward to many more years with you on the team!
